    Pros:

Size. Cycle speed. Simplicity. Bounce tilt.

    Cons:

A little pricey. No horizontal tilt. Difficult to find low cost diffusers.

The Bottom Line: Great little piece of hardware, good addition to anyone's kit.

Almost great flash, but not quite enough.

    by dad2mykids, Dec 09, 2007
    Pros:

Small size, bounce/rotating head, lower price (than SB-600), i-TTL capability, and... SMALL SIZE.

    Cons:

No swivel, could use more power

The Bottom Line: A tiny, portable, decent flash with some nice features, but no substitute for a full-sized flash when picture quality really counts.

    Pros:

    Small, fun and great quality

    Cons:

Not the best deal compared to the SB600.

The Bottom Line: Get an SB600 first if you can. You'll have more room to grow. This is a great 2nd or 3rd flash.
Review: What is it? The Nikon SB400 flash is a small and very simple to use flash, most at home aboard the... More
