Nikon Superzoom delivers, at least on the wide end

    by aloofyouth, Dec 18, 2008
    Pros:

Massive zoom range, good center sharpness until beyond 100mm

    Cons:

Corners aren't great, distortion, sharpness suffers past 100mm

The Bottom Line: Great compromise lens; you give up corner sharpness and possibly some wideangle range, but you don't need to swap lenses and can succeed where 2-lens sets fail.
Review: This is part of my 3-part series on Nikon consumer-grade DX lenses: 16-85, 18-105, and 18-200.A lot... More

    Pros:

18-200mm Zoom with Vibration Reduction is a great combination.

The Bottom Line: Bottom Line, I am very pleased with the performance of the Nikkor 18-200 VR lens and would recommend as a great all-around lens.
Review: I purchased the Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens in May 2008 for use with my D50 and have been very... More

"Pro" or not, the only lens you'll need

    by mr_scayf, Sep 16, 2008
    Pros:

Vibration Reduction; covers all the focal lengths I need

    Cons:

Not sealed (getting some dust specks in between front elements)

The Bottom Line: Great lens. Worth the price for not having to swap lenses.
