    GARMIN I3 REVIEW

    by levelone, Feb 17, 2008
    Pros:

    Voice is nice

    Cons:

Super Slow Satellite acquisition, Pathetic .. Just terrible !!! Maps have to be loaded..

The Bottom Line: do not buy a Garmin. Satelite acquisition is way way too slow. It can take up to 15 mins to gain Sats. Unacceptable !!!
Review: This is my 4th Garmin i3 from the Factory. The first 3 had problems tracking or finding Satellites.... More

For the money...get a new TomTom One.

    by numero32, Sep 13, 2007
    Pros:

-Small -cheapest (at the time) -gets the job done perfectly 75% of the time.

    Cons:

slow startup ~ 3minutes slow route calculations inferior to touch screen no longer cheapest around...

The Bottom Line: No longer the cheapest so no need to deal with wheel & select interface. Go touch screen! (TomTom One is cheaper!)

when it works its great, lacks performance

    by asakhtar, Jul 02, 2007
    Pros:

-Compact -Finds local businesses/venues WITH contact information -Good device in the long run.

    Cons:

-Could be little larger -Initializing is way too slow, almost useless at times.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for daily use, spend a little more to get a better performing one. If to get around town and occasional trips out, its acceptable.
Review: We purchased (newegg.com) this before a 3 state road trip, and if I only knew how long it was going... More

    Compact basic GPS lacks performance

    by valleyman, Apr 08, 2007
    Pros:

cheap, fast route build, good visual and voice guide, many interesting features

    Cons:

too simple, slow route rebuild, very slow address input, very slow satellite tracking

The Bottom Line: It can be a fine "entry level" GPS given the current price level, but useful only if you do all planning before hand. I won't recommend it for daily use.
Review: The purchase This is our second attempt to acquire an automotive GPS system. We went from rather exp... More
