Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens

This lens does what many pros thought couldn't be done - replace the previous L-series 28-70 f/2.8 lens with something even better. Extended coverage to an ultra-wide-angle 24mm makes it ideal for digital as well as film shooters, and the optics are even better than before with two Aspherical elements and a totally new UD glass element. It's now sealed and gasketed against dust and moisture, and a new processing unit makes the AF faster than ever.

    Pros:

    Tack sharp, excellent results. Great "normal" range of focal length.

    Cons:

    No hyperfocal scale, potential for lens creep, and heavy for the size.
    The Bottom Line: Even though I have given this lens a 4-star rating, I would not hesitate to recommend this lens to anyone. It's a fast lens that covers the "normal" focal lengths.

    Spectacularly Sweet!

    Pros:

    Very quick AF, razor sharp, solid build, beautiful versatility, and great looks.

    Cons:

    Weight (I like it), high visibility, relatively short zoom, and expensive.
    The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this lens for its fast aperture,focus speed, solid build, excellent design, versatility, and its super sharp imaging.
